Provenance:

The Estate of Stanley B. Slocum

Note:

LuktaQiatsuk, known for his work in many different media, shows here also versatility in his subject matter. A departure from the birds for which he is perhaps most well known, this graceful carving of a dancing bear is rendered with confidence and an asymmetricallity often seen in the lifted wings of his many drawn, printed, and carved birds.
