Joan Murray, The Last Buffalo, The Story of Frederick Arthur Verner, Toronto, 1984, page 97, for a very similar work entitled Sunset on the Detroit River (collection Art Gallery of Windsor).

Note:

Verner’s family lived in Windsor for many years and he is recorded as painting several works in that region.
