Provenance:

Private Collection, Toronto

Note:

With an extensive exhibition history, works by Harris are held by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, the Official Residence of the Prime Minister at 24 Sussex Drive, and the Chongquing Fine Art Museum, China. Public sculptures by the artist can also be found across the country, including prominent locations in Toronto. Harris was born in Woodstock, Ontario in 1928, receiving her education from Central Technical School and the Ontario College of Art. While the figurative Untitled (Dancer) is not emblematic of Harris’ more recognizable sculptures--which are largely abstract--it does typify the sinuous elegance of the artist’s body of work, representing the flowing rhythm of dance.
