Note:

Depictions of families abound in artist Miriam Qiyuk’s work, both avian and human. Here, her two often revisited subjects come together in this small image of transformation and maternal warmth. A smiling human mother hovers over, and partially enshrouds seventeen young birds whose small beaked faces protrude from under her with a shared wide-eyed expression.
