Lot Report

Note:

A tree is a nice thing: straightforward, calming, reassuring. The photograph of this tree is particularly alluring because of its implied age and bizarre shape, leading our imagination to wonder at what it has witnessed and what might yet come to pass. The bad news is that this tree is at grave risk from bacterium, Xylella fastidiosa, a pandemic that has killed millions of fruit trees. Will it survive?

About the Artist:
Susan Gouinlock is a graduate of the OCAD Thesis Photography Program, 2006. Now retired, Susan has been variously a portrait photographer, an interiors' photographer, and a willing contributor to her friends' empty living room walls. Susan now passes her time sewing quilts, practicing Ukulele, learning Italian, making marmalade, growing vegetables, and shooting this glorious, wonderful world.
