Note:

Miriam is the daughter of accomplished graphic and textile artist Jessie Oonark. A textile artist herself, Miriam carved in the black basalt stone common to Baker Lake with her own signature style. Her sculptures are usually flat almost relief carved works of families or a cluster of people seemingly posing for a photo.
