Note:

Almost certainly made in one of four Royal workshops for presentation to a courtier, a diplomat or an official. Production in these workshops came to an abrupt end with the British invasion of Kandy in 1815, and the end of Royal Patronage.

CONDITION DETAILS

In substantially good condition: Sheath with minor dings and one loss to silver cladding. Some corrosion to blade, not affecting decoration. Grip missing a few decorative rivet heads.
