Original embossed brown cloth portfolio with stamped gilt title containing 15 Albertype photographs; each image signed, titled and inscribed “Albertype” and with copyright date “1884”. Titled including: “White Cat River”; “Glen Ellis Falls”; “Willey House”; “Elephant Head”; “A White Mountain Home”; etc.

The Albertype process was an early form of photo-lithography using a photogelatin printing plate, similar to a Collotype.

This is a rare volume with only a few copies recorded in libraries, worldwide. The Forbes Company published four different sets of views, which were purchased individually and made into the folder.
