Provenance:

Private Collection, Cedarhurst, NY

Note:

A subject which Tataniq has investigated in several notable iterations, a related work to the present Drum Dancer was chosen for the cover of the 1992 revised and updated publication of George Swinton’s superlative reference work Sculpture of the Inuit.

Drum Dancer exhibits a purity of line so distinctive in the artist’s work, and which author and collector Norman Zepp notes “elevates his [Tataniq’s] sculpture beyond the purely descriptive.”
