Literature:

Freshwater Fish of Western Canada, Hand blown glass by Pat and Ryan Bavin, Masters Gallery Ltd., Calgary, 2008, pages 8 and 24, colour plates, for other Rainbow Trout works.

Note:

Pat Bavin (b.1949) and his son Ryan (b.1973) opened Bavin Glassworks in Windermere, B.C. in 1988. A seven year apprenticeship between father and son has created the present level of artistic quality seen in the “Fish Series”. The Bavins write that, as a medium, the fluid-like qualities of glass, easily captures the movement of a fish: “The fish almost seems alive as the hot glass gently sways during the blowing process.”
