Lot Report

Note:

Typed label verso: “Taipeh, Formosa: Coolies pulling heavy carts are numerous about the busy streets of the Formosan capital of Taipeh. Western-style cars share the same streets with the slowly moving coolies, typifying the contrast between the ancient and the new in this surprisingly modern city. There also are many bicycles on the streets, some pulling carriages, as well as the familiar rickshas.” (7/5/50)
