By repute: The current lot was Sir John A. Macdonald's and used in the East Block of the Parliament Building in Ottawa, then later presented to Michener by a descendant of the first prime minister.

CONDITION DETAILS

Sun bleached. Some drawer stop blocks missing. Inset leather top replaced.
Provenance verbal only and is based on Michener's statement to his children, but without documentation.
