comprising 50 albumin photograph portraits mostly of officers stationed in Calcutta circa 1857 and their families, including Colonel Saunders Alexius Abbott, General Sir Samuel ‘Sam’ Browne, Major-General SIr Herbert Benjamin and Lady Edwards, Sir Henry Yule, Emily ‘Pinkie’ Ritchie and family, Major Bogle and family, General and Mrs. Beadle, General John Reid Becher, Raymond de Montmorency, etc., all slipped into the gilt edged card pages in tooled and padded leather boards with gilt metal clasp
