Note:
The Laurie and Whittle print represents the third incarnation of Hervey Smyith's sketch done on the battlefield in 1759. His motivation was not artistic, but the documentation of history. Its commercial success it not surprisiing given that the subject was a battle that had glorified Britain's military prowess.
